I am Andrew, Future Leader

4 December 2011

My name is Andrew Method, I live in Tanzania. At this moment I am head of the intern doctors at Amana hospital, I am co-founder of and involved in different national and international organizations, f.e. the global Young Earth Scientists Network (YES) Network. I see the energy of young people like myself. I have hope for the children who are living in difficult circumstances. I feel the pain of youth who grow up in poverty, live poorer and will die poor. I cry for peace in this world and I dream to see a world that is fit for everyone.

A long, long time ago, in the very first Future Leaders program in The Gambia, I had dinner with Habibatou. The two of us in the light of a candle, with the sound of crickets all around us. What we ate I can't remember, yet our conversation it is still clear in my mind. It went from fathers and boyfriends, to men and women, to values and dreams. However different our backgrounds - her family is traditional Islamic, mine quote unorthodox - our ambitions were the same. We both wanted to make a difference and both wanted to give it our best shot.

De nieuwe leiders zijn volgers

25 November 2011

With enormous pleasure I look back at my experiences as a Future Leader in Gambia. The insights that I and co-Future Leaders gained about the community of Bwiam, have inspired me very much. In Gambia my interest for upcoming markets, especially markets in Africa, was highly stimulated.

‘My personal mission is to connect different worlds, disciplines and backgrounds in the work towards a more sustainable and equitable world and inspire others towards global citizenship.’

I am Jaikumar, Future Leader

Living my dream every day as a part of Better Future India is what I am today. The seed which grew in me from the Future Leaders program in 2007 is taking shape in the form of successful leadership programs we conduct at different levels. I believe in the ability of everyone around me. I believe that it’s not just you and me but all the people around us who can change our lives for the better.
